Our philosophy uses the Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive (LIMA) style of training. The techniques we use have been proven to be the most effective and humane which will help build the best possible relationship between you and your dog.
Positive reinforcement includes the use of tasty treats, praise or other life rewards (such as a walk, car ride, petting, playtime, toys etc). Using these tools, we’re able to keep the dog’s perspective positive while influencing their outlook that the things they may find scary or intimidating can actually be good.
We’re not going to lie, training requires patience and consistency as well as managing your dog’s environment to set them and you up for success. But we are here for you! Your pet will understand that they have control over their own behaviors. And you will have created a confident dog that has a strong, loving relationship with you and your family.
Our in-home dog training allows you to move at your own pace. Every dog is unique and we understand that every human learns at their own speed too. We will teach you how to communicate with and support your dogs by helping to train not just the dog but also you, their human. We love teaching dogs the foundations of listening and being well mannered. Getting started on the right paw is important for any new puppies or dogs in your home. If your dog has any behavioral issues, we can also work with you on that. Our experience in these issues and all different breeds of dogs will help us tailor a program that is specific to you, your schedule, your environment, your dogs, and your needs.
Typical behavioral issues include:
- Chewing, biting, digging or destroying objects
- Begging for food or attention
- Not following cues like sit, come, heel
- Pulling on a leash
- Excessive barking
- Family dynamics
- Jumping on people or furniture
- Aggression towards dogs or humans
Overall, training should be fun for both you and your pet! We hope to bring out the joy and love you and your dog have for one other and cannot wait to hear from you! Please contact us to schedule a Free 15 Minute Call to discuss how we can be of help.
